Founding partner Hugh specialises in business and tax planning advice for owner managed businesses and enjoys working with Sage and helping clients with their management accounts. He is regularly involved in voluntary work with a range of organisations helping with everything from board and trustee duties to helping individuals coping with personal finance difficulties. When not working Hugh loves rock climbing, walking, listening to orchestral and piano music and getting creative in the kitchen!

Ian Sheekey - FCA
Partner
|
|
Partner Ian is an experienced Chartered Accountant and provides a range of services
including specialist work for clients. He enjoys making a difference by helping
owner-managed businesses achieve the best possible results through careful planning
and account support. Within the firm Ian also heads up digital media, marketing and
communications. Outside work, as well as enjoying family activities, Ian is often
either heading off to see a band or setting off on a long run! After recently
completing the Great South Run, in aid of Cancer Research UK, Ian has now well and truly
been bitten by the running bug and is planning to enter the London Marathon in the near
future. |

Karen Bennett - FCCA

|
Karen manages the accounts department, supervising members of the team, and likes meeting and working with clients. She enjoys reading (among her favourite books are Wuthering Heights and Anne of Green Gables) and swims at least 2 miles a week.

Emily Hunt - ACCA
Accounts Supervisor
|
|
Emily prepares accounts and carries out audits. She is an “accident-prone vegetarian”
who has finally had to give up horse riding after breaking too many bones! Emily’s
husband is in the army, she is very involved in supporting the military community
and, for example fundraises for Help For Heroes. She uses her baking skills to feed
the soldiers up with cakes – and then trains with them in the gym before they leave
for their tours. One day she would like to jump out of a plane, preferably with a
parachute!

Catherine Packwood-Bluett - ATT; MAAT
Tax adviser
|
|
Catherine works mainly with Ian and Karen providing tax support to clients on a
range of personal and business tax matters. She finds helping clients demystify
the processes particularly rewarding. Outside the office her daughters’ various
activities keep her busy. If she manages to get time for herself she enjoys swimming
(50 minute mile!) and is a keen Scottish Country Dancer.

Rose Duly - CTA ACA
Tax adviser

|
Rose works mainly with Hugh, providing tax input for personal and business clients.
She specialises in advising on more complex tax issues,
such as trusts and capital gains tax. Outside work Rose's
passion is music. She plays piano and violin, and enjoys encouraging her children
with their music. Her favourite composer is JS Bach but her i-pod says she also
listens to a lot of jazz, Abba and Queen! |

Gemma Thomas - Studying ACCA
Accountants Trainee & Payroll
|
|
Gemma works in the accounts department with Karen, Emily and Natasha and runs
payrolls with Ellen. She likes steam trains, animals, comedy socks and drinking
tea (not necessarily in that order) but above all else she supports the Welsh rugby team.
She has predicted a win for Wales at the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand so
is currently working on finding a way to attend…

Ellen Reed - Studying for AAT (final yr)
Management accounts & payroll

|
Ellen’s work involves in preparing management accounts, Sage bookkeeping and payroll amongst other things. Apart from enjoying life with her busy young family Ellen has a secret ambition….. to take up figure skating again and throw a few triple salchows on the ice! And if she had a magic wand Ellen would like to stop global warming & save the planet for our children. Our very own Eco-warrior on ice! |

Marie Buckland
Secretary/Receptionist

|
As the full time secretary and receptionist Marie is usually first point of contact for clients
and deals with client administration. She is a music fan, favourite band The Eagles.
However, the most memorable gigs she has ever attended are still The Rolling Stones and The
Beatles at Salisbury City Hall in the sixties! Her partner regularly takes her touring on his
Honda Pan European motorbike and her secret ambition (as well as trekking Machu Picchu) is to
tour the USA on a Harley Davidson! Failing that Marie would settle for a “luxury gap year”,
in order to tour the world, staying in nice hotels!

Raffaella Simmons
Secretary/Receptionist

|
Raffaella has worked with Hugh for over 12 years only recently cutting down to part-time. She works with Marie
on client administration and has particularly enjoyed getting to know clients over the years through working in
reception. Italian by birth and fluent in the language, Raffaella came to England aged 7 and frequently visits
family in her home region of Veneto and her favourite city, Venice. Raffaella has recently taken up Ballroom
Dancing and has been awarded her first medal – with honours!

Natasha Purnell - Studying ACCA
Accounts Trainee
|
| Natasha has joined the team as a trainee accountant and works with Karen and Emily preparing accounts.
Apart from getting her ACCA qualification one of Natasha's ambitions is to travel around Italy - and she would love to learn Italian. She designs her own jewellery
and is interested in interior design - practising on her own home with regular makeovers! |
