New appointment to Business Services
We have appointed a new person, Mary Michels, to our Business Services department.
Mary's role will be to assist with those clients who can benefit from a higher level of service, such as
assistance with Sage management accounts, and business planning and development.
Mary has worked locally for a number of years, latterly in Ferndown, and has a great range of experience
in helping make a real difference to small and medium-sized businesses.
The Business Services department has never been busier. The aim is to get close to clients in order to
understand what they want from their business and to assist in achieving their goals.
In some cases that means just giving some impartial (but financially astute) advice, but sometimes it involves
rolling up our sleeves and getting involved for however long it takes. The principal services we offer are:
 Business plans, including start-ups.
Management accounting (to check how things are going)
Sage support
Tax planning
General business advice and ad hoc projects
In these challenging times it is important for clients to be able to get the support that they need and to be
able to access good sensible financial advice.
There has been a tendency for accountancy firms to pare down their services during the last few years in order
to keep costs down and be efficient, but that is of no use to a business that needs help now, and at a senior level.
