The Chancellor has announced an amendment to his proposed Capital Tax Changes revealed in his Pre-Budget report last October.
He is introducing an “Entrepreneurs’ Relief”. The relief is available on the first £1 million of lifetime gains on certain business assets. These gains will be taxed at an effective rate of 10%. Any additional gains will be taxed at 18%.
